Previously, we reported on the Intel Nova Lake processor series that is expected to replace the Intel Arrow Lake processor series for desktop-class computers that is expected to be introduced around 2026 to 2027.
Recently, it was reported that the Intel Nova Lake processor chip has already begun shipping to computer development partners for the product testing and validation phase to see if this processor chip is suitable for continued development, or if it still needs any corrections and improvements.
What is known about Nova Lake for now is that Intel will start manufacturing their processor chips again, after all the products launched last year, including the Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake processor series required TSMC's help to manufacture them.
The Intel Nova Lake processor series and Panther Lake, which are expected to replace the Lunar Lake processor series, will be built using the Intel 18A (1.8nm, 18 Angstrom) process, Intel's most advanced semiconductor chip production process to date, surpassing the Intel 20A that was supposed to be used for last year's processor series.
Meanwhile, it is also expected that the Intel Nova Lake series of processor chips will require a new socket, and this means that the LGA 1851 socket will only be used for one generation of CPUs, namely Intel Arrow Lake.
As mentioned, the Intel Nova Lake series of processor chips is expected to be introduced around 2026 to 2027, unlike Intel Panther Lake which may be introduced sooner.
