News about the Automated Passenger Transport Service (Aerotrain) at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) entered another new episode when MAHB Managing Director, Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani issued the latest statement.
He said that the service is expected to resume operations in Q2 this year after being suspended since March 2023. His party expects all tests to be completed by April. Therefore, in the best-case scenario, if all tests are successful, his party will definitely be able to obtain a certificate to operate immediately.
He also said that Q2 is mentioned as an expectation if further tests are required. The timeline is also considered important to adhere to, therefore hoping that all tests are successful so that the service can begin operating as soon as it receives the certificate. At the same time, he gave an assurance on the matter.
This statement was issued after MAHB was said to have not yet given a fixed date or specific date for the service to resume operations. Loke also expressed dissatisfaction with MAHB's management and delays in the project.
