Effective 1 January 2025 today, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is fully switching to using a cashless system for ticket purchase purposes. This transition will involve major KTMB stations in the Klang Valley, North, South and East Coast.
With this move, users can purchase tickets using the KTMB Mobile application on Android and iOS. In addition, users can also purchase tickets at KTMB ticket counters, but payments are accepted via MyDebit cards, credit cards, and KTM Wallet.
Another alternative offered is purchasing at ticket kiosks using MyDebit cards, credit cards, TNG eWallet digital wallets and Boost. Users can also use MyDebit cards, credit cards, TNG digital wallets, Google Pay and Samsung Pay when passing through Automatic Control Gates.
With this move, KTMB has now completely switched to the use of cashless payments for ticket purchases at kiosks, counters or when passing through Automatic Control Gates, effective 1 January 2025 today.
