The Lenovo Legion Go S was launched this morning as the first third-party mobile console to use the SteamOS operating system. Previously, SteamOS was only available on the Steam Deck console. The Legion Go S comes with an 8” WUXGA 120Hz LCD screen that supports touch.
This is paired with a choice of AMD Ryzen Z2 Go or AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme chips, up to 32GB of 7500Mhz LPDDR5X RAM, up to 1TB of storage, and a 55.5Whr battery with 3 cells. Unlike the Legion Go, the Legion Go S does not have two user-removable controllers. It still supports WiFi 6e connectivity, two USB 4 ports, an audio jack, and a microSD slot. The speakers are a pair of 2W drivers.
The console will also be offered with the Windows 11 operating system for those who do not want to use SteamOS. The only difference is that the Windows 11 version is offered in white and the SteamOS version is in Nebula Violet.
The Windows version of the Lenovo Legion Go S will launch this month for $729.99 (~RM 3284). Later in May, models with different configurations will be offered for $599.99 (~RM 2699). The SteamOS version of the Lenovo Legion Go S will be available in May starting at $499.99 (~RM 2250).
