Meta Wants to Add AI Bot Sharing to Facebook and Instagram

Meta is ready to make a high investment in the artificial intelligence arena, as well as Meta AI offerings. In addition, the leading social media developer is also looking at methods for adding a number of artificial intelligence-powered personas or fictional characters that will share on Facebook and Instagram, in addition to normal human sharing.

Shared via FT, Meta said that these personas will operate more or less like human accounts today - including having a profile picture, and also sharing content on their platform. Meta said this step is in an effort to make the platform under them more attractive and improve interaction.

However, Meta emphasizes that there is still a need to be careful in introducing this feature, including because there is a risk that these personas produce poor quality content, in addition to being used for bad purposes - thus impacting the use of the platform as a whole.

The integration of artificial intelligence-based content is expected to be carried out in stages on the platform. For 2024, Meta is ready to focus on the development of Meta AI that helps in answering a number of questions and generating images. Moving forward, this year, Meta aims to introduce text-based video generation to facilitate video content production.
