Microsoft Will Show Update to Operating System Battery Iconography



Microsoft recently announced that there is a new update that will be shown to users of their Windows 11 Insider Program soon, which is the use of new iconography for battery life indicators.


If previously the battery icon on the Windows 11 operating system only showed a white battery icon, through the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.3000 (KB5050103) update which will be introduced soon.


Through their blog post, this update will show the battery icon in three different colors, namely green, yellow, red and black. For the green icon, it indicates that the laptop battery is charging, while the yellow color shows the use in Energy Saver mode.


For red, it indicates that the battery is at a critical level and needs to be charged to continue using the laptop. The previously white icon has been changed to black to indicate that the laptop is using battery power and is not at a critical level.


Apart from that, in the laptop battery settings, Microsoft will also provide the option for users to show the battery percentage next to the icon, and this feature can be accessed through the battery settings in the Control Panel menu.
