NVIDIA Interested in Making Chips for Desktop Computers Too

On Monday, NVIDIA launched Project DIGITS, a mini supercomputer that can be used at home to train AI models at home for $3,000. But NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has now hinted that the next step is for his company to launch CPUs for desktop computers as well.

The GB10 Grace Blackwell chip used in Project DIGITS was developed in collaboration with MediaTek using the Arm architecture. NVIDIA already has a strong foothold in the CPU and GPU markets for AI as well as GPUs for high-powered gaming graphics cards. Their experience and MediaTek could be used to give Qualcomm competition in the ARM chip market for PCs.
