Design And Screen
The Oppo Reno series has always been known for its attractive design choices and the Reno13 Pro is no exception. This phone has a flat front and back panel with rounded sides that form the main frame. It is also thin and light making the holding experience in most daily tasks more pleasant. I also increasingly appreciate phones with such a display that actually works better in some daily uses.
In addition, the artistic treatment of butterfly-like elements is present on the back of the phone for the purpose of adding an elegant touch. This shows how matte and glossy finishes can be combined well. At the same time ensuring that it is not slippery and most importantly does not trap dirt easily. It can still be used with the free TPU frame but of course you can't feel the clear difference between the glossy and matte textures which also produce a smooth finish like sand.
The same space also has a medium-sized and thin rectangular camera bump that may attract the attention of people around. It uses a smooth glass-like material with an interesting color combination. In addition, it has two other bumps that clearly protrude from the frame which may be distracting for some users. Meanwhile, a third, smaller sensor is placed next to the LED Flash.
Other design elements include an in-screen fingerprint scanner that works well and is sensitive to finger touch. Other biometric systems are also provided such as passwords, pin numbers and drawings as additional options that users can take advantage of.
Stereo speakers are used and can be found at the bottom and top with audio output shooting to the sides. Loud stereo audio can be enjoyed from this pair of speakers. However, it is unbalanced because the bottom sounds louder than the speaker at the top. Once again, what Oppo still sacrifices this time is the 3.5mm audio jack.
On the right side there is a power button and audio adjustment with a solid build. Moving to the left side, there are no buttons and holes. There is a slot for the SIM, microphone hole and audio grille on the bottom. There is no micro-SD card slot instead the SIM tray only supports dual nano-sized SIM. The device is also equipped with a red emitter that makes it practically used as a remote control on the top.
The 6.7-inch AMOLED screen used offers good visuals with a peak brightness of 800 nits. Color reproduction looks sharp even when viewed from different angles. In addition, it has sufficient screen brightness levels making it readable even under bright sunlight. The screen also supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth and responsive animation transitions. Netflix content can also be watched in full HD resolution because the screen passes Widevine L1 DRM certification.
Overall, the Reno13 Pro's build materials and finish quality are very good for a mid-range device. I would like to give praise to Oppo for producing a device that not only looks attractive but also feels premium in the hand. The important thing you need to know about the Reno13 Pro is that this phone is IP68/IP69 waterproof.
Hardware And Software
The device is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor, 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage on the model reviewed. This combination of RAM and storage is considered standard for most mid-range devices on the market today. For those who need more storage, there is support for RAM Expansion which can add virtual memory in a choice of sizes up to 12GB of RAM. By default, 4GB of RAM is enabled virtually and can be disabled if you are more concerned with storage space. Although this RAM can be expanded, the storage space is fixed because there is no slot for a microSD card.
Several benchmark tests were also run with the device showing a score of 115,0560 points in the Antutu benchmark. Meanwhile, the Geekbench 6 benchmark recorded 1,319 points in the single-core test and 4,143 points in the multi-core test. In addition, 1724/1703/2329 for the score in the Geekbench AI test.

The performance of the Reno13 Pro 5G is not the most powerful but is capable of performing most of the daily work required. The device is able to perform well in most situations throughout the review. The 120Hz screen also really provides a smooth user experience without any lag issues or application installation failures that occur.
The process of switching between applications can also be done without the issue of the device failing to work suddenly. It can also handle most tasks well including high-graphics intensive games without any lag issues. Each game also offers detailed and smooth graphic quality making the gaming experience enjoyable. In fact, there is no overheating issue with it only getting warm for long gaming sessions.
Reno13 Pro runs ColorOS 15 based on Android 15 with at least four years of updates given. Looking at the whole ColorOS 15 received significant changes from all aspects. Most notably in the re-styling of shortcut access in the control center which now has larger icons making it easier to see than before. ColorOS 15 also brings an updated interface with a big focus on animations.
It is equipped with Aurora and Tidal Engine technology which allows the device to run application animations in parallel thus ensuring a smooth transition when switching between applications. At the same time, it has better motion effects with smooth animations. This means that responsive and smooth animation transitions can be felt without any lag issues even when users switch from one application to another quickly.
There is also a Smart Function section that houses a number of features and functions that are believed to help make daily tasks easier. By default, four functions are provided: AI Summary, which utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) functions to summarize long content for a more concise and relevant summary. Then AI Speak, which allows the device to read content for users to hear without having to look at the device screen. Meanwhile, File Dock and Recent Files make it easy to access frequently used files quickly and easily directly from the home screen. The process of finding files is also easier without the need for manual searching through folders.
The AI Studio application is provided with the additional AI Motion function. It can add realistic motion to still images to make them appear moving. It can also add additional effects such as moving backgrounds to give a more lively and interesting effect. However, it is a credit-based system where users have an account first and add it by performing a few simple steps in the application. Watermark options can also be changed for a more personal touch, or turn still images into GIFs for more creativity.
The Notes feature on ColorOS 15 is also more versatile with a variety of more practical functions. It offers the AI Assistants for Notes feature that can summarize long text content and provide easy-to-understand summaries. In addition to restructuring the content in a more logical and easy-to-read order. Meanwhile, AI Writer is seen helping to write, edit, and improve text automatically. In addition to helping to restructure the content in a more logical and easy-to-read order. The Dynamic Island clone is also now not only customizable but also looks similar to that offered on Apple devices.
ColorOS 15 on Reno13 Pro is also equipped with Google Gemini to easily find related information. Users can also share files from Reno13 Pro to iPhone devices via the Share with iPhone function. However, the sharing process must be done with the O+ Connect application which must be downloaded first. There is also a more or less similar function called Touch to Share coming through a new update that provides faster sharing between Android and iOS devices via touch only.
However, one thing I noticed is that there is no longer support for Oppo Share which can be seen in ColorOS 15 but was replaced in the new version of Share With iPhone earlier. This is because when I type Oppo Share in the search box in the menu settings section, it shows that the feature takes me to the Share With iPhone section. I also understand that bloated apps are an issue faced by users, including on the Reno13 Pro. The best advice is to simply remove unnecessary apps through the device settings.
Camera System
The Reno13 Pro is equipped with a tri-camera setup featuring a 50MP main sensor (OIS), a 50MP telephoto sensor (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide. On the front, there is a 50MP selfie camera with built-in autofocus. As usual, the photo shooting options can be taken at 1:1, 4:3, 16:9 and full aspect ratios.
The device can also record videos up to 4K/60fps with built-in stabilization using the main camera and selfies. 4K videos that support 30/60FPS can also be made with a choice of zoom capabilities between 0.6X, 1X, 2X, 3X and 6X. Also given focus is the Underwater Photography Mode which makes it easier for users to take pictures underwater with better results.
In addition to bringing several interesting features found on the previous Find X8 model. Among them are AI Clarity Enhancer which can make cropped images, or low-resolution images look sharp, as if taken directly with the main camera. AI Unblur which can change blurry images to be sharper. AI Reflection Remover which can remove reflections for better image quality.
Followed by the Smart Scene function which consists of three types of atmospheres, namely Stage, Silhouette and Fireworks. Three new Flim Simulation filters such as CC Film, NC Film and NH Film are also provided. In addition to supporting the Sound Focus function for the production of all quality videos with low audio noise. Reno13 Pro also has a special night mode which is automatically activated but can be turned off if you do not want to use it.
Battery and Charging System
Reno13 Pro is equipped with a 5,800mAh battery which offers quite good endurance with moderate use. I got an average of 8 hours and 14 minutes with SOT of 4 hours through usage such as browsing the web, scrolling through social media, playing games, replying to text messages, playing music on Spotify and others. Apart from that, it reached over 14 hours with SOT of around 10 hours for casual usage. The device supports SuperVOOC 80W wired fast charging and AirVOOC 50W wireless fast charging. The recharging process can be done in a short time of less than an hour.
What's in the Box?
1 X Oppo Reno13 Pro 5G.
1 X SuperVOOC Charger.
1 X Protective Case.
1 X USB-C Cable.
1 X Manual
1 X Warranty Card.
1 X SIM Pin
Conclusion
Reno13 Pro is a versatile device designed to meet the needs of modern users who require excellent performance with various advanced features. Built with high-quality materials such as aluminum and glass, it gives an elegant look. Various AI features provided through ColorOS 15 make it easy for users to carry out daily tasks. The camera system with various interesting modes also produces most of the quality images in its class.
The bonus is the focus on Underwater Photography Mode which facilitates the process of taking pictures and videos underwater. In fact, the Reno13 Pro's ability to survive water and dust with an IP68/69 rating is also a big added value here. Overall performance feels sufficient and satisfactory for various user needs. However, as usual, the dumping of fat applications is still the main issue faced with unnecessary applications pre-installed on the device. Besides also taking up space and slowing down the device's performance.
