Perplexity recently updated their app, making it easier for loyal users to access the AI features brought to Android devices. If you’re not a fan of Google Assistant or Gemini, Perplexity can now be made your default digital assistant.
Simply open the Perplexity app settings on your Android device, scroll down and find Enable Assistant. Then you can select Perplexity as your default assistant. You can then summon Perplexity by pressing and holding the power button (if set) or also by swiping up from the bottom corner of the screen.
Seeing as Perplexity also supports conversational features, you can chat with Perplexity to perform searches. For those who don’t know, Perplexity is a generative AI service that focuses on the concept of a search engine with AI.
