Two years ago, NVIDIA ACE was introduced as a generative AI technology that can bring NPC characters to life in video games. Most recently, Krafton with their popular game PUBG introduced PUBG Ally powered by ACE.
PUBG Ally is an NPC that will be an assistant to real players. Players can interact with Ally like a friend who is a backup in the game's battles. Players can ask Ally to find ammunition, armor, vehicles and others. Ally can also automatically provide protection to players if there is an important mission underway.
With this new innovation, there is no longer the term NPC because non-playable characters are now CPCs, which are Co-Playable Characters. PUBG Ally powered by NVIDIA ACE also uses the Mistral-Nemo-Minitron-8B-128k-instruct language model.
PUBG Ally will arrive in games starting this year. It is not certain if it will be limited to PUBG for PC with NVIDIA RTX Blackwell graphics cards only or will also arrive in PUBG Mobile with Snapdragon 8 Elite chips based on the Oryon CPU.
