Along with the launch of the REDMI Note 14 series today, Xiaomi Malaysia also launched the REDMI Buds 6 and REDMI Watch 5 series. The REDMI Buds 6 and Buds 6 Pro are more premium versions of the Buds 6 Play and Buds 6 Lite that were launched in September last year. While the Watch 5 is their new smartwatch with HyperOS 2.0.
The REDMI Buds 6 are affordable premium TWS with dual audio drivers, dual microphones, multiple active noise cancellation (ANC) modes and a new 360-degree audio listening experience. It also uses a premium design such as having an LED strip instead of a single LED light as a battery and connection indication. This TWS also uses an excimer coating for the best matte finish and remains premium looking at all times.
For the Pro version, it uses three audio drivers combined with 2x Hi-Res drivers and 1x PZT tweeter. It is also one of the cheapest TWS with head tracking for spatial audio. The ANC capability promises a TWS-like experience, and each earphone also has touch controls.
The REDMI Watch 5 is their HyperOS 2.0 smartwatch with a rectangular screen design like the Apple Watch. It also has a special physical button that looks like a rotating knob on the side of the watch. The screen is an AMOLED 2.07″ 60Hz with a brightness of 1500 nits.
In addition, REDMI also offers more than 200 watch faces including the new Floating Portrait Mode. This watch has a linear motor with more than 20 vibration modes and more than 150 sports modes. This watch also has a Bluetooth-based walkie-talkie mode with an operating distance of up to 200 meters. Through HyperOS 2.0, the Watch 5 brings NFC Car Key Support, Instant Notifications, Smart Device Control.
For accurate data tracking, a special algorithm is paired with an AFE chip developed by REDMI itself. The battery life of this watch is up to 24 days on a single charge.
