The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, S25+ and S25 were officially launched today with all three models now using the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip. There are no more models with the Exynos chip this year as was the case in the Malaysian market before. This chip is a customized version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite according to Samsung's needs.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra brings some minor changes compared to last year's S24 Ultra. All the sides and screen of the device now have a flat design and the corners of the skin are now completely rounded as it is made of titanium metal. On last year's S24 Ultra, the left and right sides still had rounded frames. The camera bump also resembles the Z Fold6 more because the metal ring is now completely black on all lenses.
It is equipped with a 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X WQHD+ 120Hz screen, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, 12GB RAM, up to 1TB storage, and a 5000 mAh battery with 45W charging. The main camera on the back consists of a 200MP wide-angle lens, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 3X 10MP telephoto lens. Meanwhile, on the front, a 12MP sensor is used for the selfie camera.
The S Pen is still included with a built-in stylus storage space on the lower left corner but without Bluetooth support. Therefore, the Air Control feature introduced since the Galaxy Note9 can only be used if the device is tethered to the S Pen Pro which must be purchased separately.
The Samsung Galaxy S25+ comes with a 6.7″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X WQHD+ 120Hz screen, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, 12GB RAM, up to 512GB storage, and a 4900 mAh battery with 45W charging. The main camera on the back consists of a 50MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens. Meanwhile, on the front, a 12MP sensor is also used for the selfie camera. Like the 25 Ultra, the S25+ also uses a completely flat design.
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S25 comes with a 6.2″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X WQHD+ 120Hz screen, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, 12GB RAM, up to 512GB storage, and a 4000 mAh battery with 25W charging.
The main camera on the back also comes with a 50MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens. Meanwhile, on the front, a 12MP sensor is also used for the selfie camera. It is the same as the S24+, only smaller.
All three devices use the One UI 7 operating system based on Android 15 with several new Galaxy AI features to be introduced. Among the new features is a more powerful virtual assistant powered by Google Gemini. The Now Brief feature provides a summary of activities in the morning and evening such as the weather forecast and the agenda for the whole day. The Now Bar also provides real-time updates directly from the front locked screen. Among the features that can be displayed are the scores of the user's favorite football matches.
Video recording capabilities have also been improved with AI Eraser that automatically removes noise or background music. This year's Expert RAW feature also brings Galaxy Log support with the ability to see Zebra patterns and color exposure directly from the camera application.
All Galaxy AI features such as Photo Studio, Note Assist and Live Translate are still maintained. We understand that the Galaxy AI free trial will still expire on 31 December 2025.
All Samsung Galaxy S25s come with a Gemini Advanced subscription and 2TB cloud storage for 6 months for free.
