Samsung is expected to introduce a more affordable flip phone this year. It could be the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, which will continue to offer flagship features. Recently, details of how Samsung cut costs for this device have been revealed.
The Galaxy Z Flip7 FE is said to not use the same latest screen panel as the Galaxy Z Flip7. Instead, it will use the Galaxy Z Flip6 screen panel. It is not revealed whether the outside and inside are the same. If so, the inner screen is a 6.7-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X 120Hz HDR10+ panel. While the outside is a 3.4-inch 60Hz Super AMOLED panel with Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
This is not surprising because like the Galaxy S24 FE which uses regular AMOLED, the flagship S24 uses AMOLED LTPO. Using an old screen on a new device for an affordable price makes sense. The Z Flip7 FE may use the same chip as the Galaxy S24 FE, the Exynos 2400e, paired with lower memory and storage, and a weaker camera compared to the Z Flip7.
Let's all look forward to more information that will arrive from time to time.
