U Mobile has been appointed by MCMC to develop the 5G networks of the two countries. In parallel, several things have been questioned, including in terms of financial capabilities and others.
Most recently, today U Mobile publicly signed an agreement with CIMB, where CIMB will offer financial support for the introduction of the 5G network by U Mobile.
For your information, this is not the first time CIMB has offered financial support for U Mobile. Previously, in 2021, CIMB participated in offering a financial facility of RM1.2 billion to U Mobile, which was subsequently increased to RM1.4 billion in 2023.
It was not shared the financial value involved in the latest financial support by CIMB to U Mobile for the purpose of introducing the 5G networks of the two countries.
