In October last year, Microsoft announced a comprehensive AI search feature on Windows. It understands the context of the user's search and can continue to ask questions as if talking to a human. For example, you can ask "how to connect bluetooth headphones to PC" and Windows 11 will immediately provide settings for bluetooth.
For the AI search feature, users can also search for various files directly from File Explorer or the search box in Start. However, for now this feature is limited to searching Windows system settings and files containing images or text with JPEG, PNG, PDF, TXT, and XLS formats. This feature is also quite flexible with users being able to specify where this AI search will search for files.
This feature is further expanded with Apple Intelligence-like capabilities. Under the Click to Do feature, pressing and holding the Windows key while right-clicking on the mouse after selecting text allows users to rewrite text. In addition, spell checking and grammar correction can also be done. Text summarization feature is also available.
This new feature is limited to Windows Insider users and only on Windows devices with Snapdragon X Elite chips under Copilot+ PC.
