WhatsApp now allows users to add songs to photos or videos uploaded to their status. This allows them to create more interesting statuses than just pictures, videos or text. In general, it also works the same way as the ability to add songs to Instagram Stories.
You just need to open the app and tap on Status to create a status. Upload a photo or video as usual and tap on the music icon at the top. It is placed next to the image crop icon. Searching for a specific song or artist can be done easily through the available catalogs like on Instagram and Facebook. When a song is added to a photo, it will play for 15 seconds. For video updates, the duration of the song will be adjusted according to the duration of the video.
In this way, they can choose from a wide variety of available songs, as well as add effects and filters to make videos and photos on their statuses more interesting. The update is being rolled out in stages with some Android users starting to receive it. It is expected to be available to more users in the coming weeks.
