YouTube Tests Higher Quality Audio Feature

YouTube Premium subscribers can now test out several new features such as higher audio quality when watching videos. Through this experimental feature, audio at a setting of 256kbps can be enjoyed. Also announced is that the Jump Ahead feature is now available on web browsers after only being activated in the smartphone app. Jump Ahead allows viewers to skip straight to the part of the video they find interesting.

Furthermore, videos can be watched at 4X speed on the flash phone app which is an increase from the maximum speed of 2X. For iOS users, the picture-in-picture (PIP) feature and YouTube Shorts download are also finally supported after being exclusive to the Android app for a long time.

All of these features need to be manually activated via the Try experimental new features setting in the app. Activate it immediately to try it out as it can only be used until February 19.
