50% Toll Discount to be Implemented for All Festive Seasons This Year

A 50 percent toll discount will be implemented for major festive seasons including Aidilfitri this year, according to Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi. It is a new mechanism to replace the free toll policy that was previously practiced. In addition, the implementation can also reduce the government budget burden to RM80 million per year compared to RM180 million if the toll was free.

Previously, the government agreed to provide a 50 percent toll discount from the normal toll rate in conjunction with Chinese New Year. It was implemented starting at 12.01 midnight on January 27 and ending at 11.59 pm on January 28 for Class 1 private vehicles only.
