Amazon Alexa is the virtual assistant with the second highest number of users behind Google Assistant. With the increasing focus on artificial intelligence (AI) integration, it's time for Alexa to be given an upgrade like Google Gemini. Yesterday, Amazon started sending out invites for an Alexa-related event on February 26. It is believed that Alexa with AI features will be announced at the event.
This Alexa with AI capabilities is believed to use the Claude model developed by Anthropic. According to reports, Amazon initially wanted to use its own AI model but in tests it did not operate satisfactorily. The AI-enhanced Alexa was supposed to be launched late last year but was delayed due to the above issues.
As one of the world's largest technology companies, Amazon needs to follow the trend of integrating AI features into their products. At this point, only Amazon has not yet offered a smarter virtual assistant like Google and Apple have done.
