Amazon has now informed app developers that their app store for Android, the Amazon AppStore, will be ending on August 20, 2025. The main reason behind this termination was not stated.
For your information, the Amazon AppStore has been offered since 2011. Since its introduction, they have offered their app store for Android users, in addition to also working with BlackBerry to support Android applications through their app store on Blackberry 10. In addition, Amazon has also included the AppStore for Windows 11, allowing Windows users to easily install Android applications.
Previously, Amazon had stated that it would end support for Windows effective March 2025, and now it has also announced the termination for Android effective August 20, 2025.
Through the support page, Amazon stated that their app store will continue to be available on Fire TV and Fire Tablet for the time being.
