Apple Music Reportedly May Also Increase Subscription Prices

Yesterday, we reported that Spotify may offer a more expensive Music Pro subscription plan. It is said to offer higher quality audio streaming, early access to concert tickets and access to exclusive content by UMG and WMG. Interestingly, Apple is also reported to be increasing their subscription prices.

Spotify itself has shared that the offer of their higher subscription plan was delayed due to Apple Music. Apple offers Apple Music subscriptions at no additional charge to stream lossless audio content. Lucas Shaw also shared in his report on Bloomberg that Apple is also reported to increase Apple Music subscription prices to be more expensive. Apart from Apple, Amazon Music will also do the same.

For now, it is just a hint and it is not certain when Apple will increase their subscription prices. The last time the price was increased was 3 years ago, from RM14.90 per month to RM16.90. If the Spotify Music Pro offer is more attractive than the new Apple Music price, I might go back to Spotify. What do you think?
