Apple Reportedly Cancels Project to Develop AR Glasses Connected to Mac

Apple has now reportedly canceled a project focused on developing augmented reality glasses that connect to their devices, such as Macs. The project has not been publicly announced by Apple so far.

It is said that the device looks like a regular pair of glasses, and has a built-in screen and requires connection to a Mac computer. This project was previously seen as a continuation of the previous Apple Vision Pro, and aims to make it easier for users to use it every day. However, Apple is seen facing challenges in connecting the best technology at the best cost.

Apple is said to have initially wanted to connect these smart glasses to the iPhone, but this affected the iPhone's battery life and other technical challenges, leading to connecting the smart glasses to the Mac, which usually has higher processing power and battery.

However, the performance of the smart glasses is said to be quite weak when demonstrated internally, leading to its cancellation. However, the cancellation of this project may not be related to the development of a standalone smart glasses project by Apple.

Today, Meta is ready to lead the smart glasses arena, and is ready to offer several models as a result of collaboration with Ray-Ban. Meta has also shown more advanced smart glasses with screen integration and real-time data, which are expected to be available in a few years. In addition to Meta, Samsung has recently announced its intention to come with its own smart glasses.
