Apple products have become popular because they offer a simple and easy method of use. Unlike Android devices, which are more flexible and give users more freedom. Now with the age of social media becoming more and more popular, more and more people are becoming Apple experts when smart users share various tips. To prevent users from getting confused, Apple updates their articles.
Last week, Apple shared how to update or ensure that users' AirPods are always running the latest software. Most recently, Apple shared how to ensure that MacBooks do not turn on automatically when the screen is opened or the device is connected to the charger. As everyone knows, Mac product users rarely turn off or turn on the device - causing Apple to place the Mac Mini's power button under the device.
To ensure that the MacBoook remains off or in shutdown mode and does not turn on when the screen is opened and connected to the charger, the device must be running macOS Sequoia. Then open the Terminal application and enter sudo nvram BootPreference=%00 if you want the MacBook to remain off when the screen is opened.
Meanwhile, enter sudo nvram BootPreference=%01 to keep it off when charging. Entering sudo nvram BootPreference=%02 will ensure that your MacBook can only turn on if the charger is connected.
When finished, press Enter or Return and enter your administrator password. If you want to revert to the default settings, open Terminal and enter sudo nvram -d BootPreference. Now you can ensure that your MacBook will remain off even if the screen is open or the charger is connected.
