ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra Launched With Snapdragon 8 Elite and Gimbal Camera

The ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra was officially launched today, another flagship device powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The device comes with a 6.78” OLED screen with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz from the LTPO type, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, and a 5500 mAh battery that supports 65W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.

The main camera uses a 50MP wide-angle lens with a gimbal system, a 13M ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 32MP telephoto that supports up to 5X optical zoom. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera.

The body of the device exceeds the IP68 water and dust resistance level and also has an under-screen fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a stereo audio system. The operating system used is Android 15 with several artificial intelligence (AI) features such as audio transcription in voice recording applications, real-time translation during video calls and automatic document summarization. What is disappointing is that ASUS only provides updates to two versions of Android.

At this time the device is only sold in Taiwan, Hong Kong and the EU at a price starting at €1,100 each. Since the Zenfone series has not been marketed in Malaysia for quite some time, the probability of this device entering the local market is very low.
