Canon has announced the PowerShot V1, a compact camera for Vlogging. It could be Canon's answer to the Sony ZV-E10 II vlogging camera that was announced in July 2024. However, its availability is limited to a few countries such as Japan, China, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan for now.
The Canon PowerShot V1 uses a 22.3MP sensor that is essentially the same size as a Micro Four Thirds but in a larger 3:2 aspect ratio. It also has built-in electronic stabilization allowing for clear and stable footage to be produced. It can record 4K30P video with the Canon LOG (C-LOG) color profile, or 4K60P cropped at 1.4X. At the same time, it can record 10-bit Log video which means users can make color corrections, adjust tones and create different styles in video post-processing.
There is also a dedicated movie mode for close-up shooting along with an autofocus system powered by Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system. The camera also features a 3-inch adjustable LCD touchscreen. In addition to other additional features such as a 3.5mm audio jack, USB-C port, and a built-in microphone on the body. Wireless connectivity options via Bluetooth and WiFi are also provided, and easy sharing can also be done via the Canon Camera Connect app.
