The technology world, especially for computers and smart devices, has completely switched to using the latest DDR5 memory. And because of this, there are rumors that have now arrived that the production of DDR3 and DDR4 memory will be stopped this year.
Reports from and Digitimes say that chip manufacturing companies such as Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron, and others are now showing a decrease in demand for these memory chips, while demand for DDR5 memory chips and also HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) is increasing.
It is expected that companies such as these will begin to reduce production, especially for DDR3 memory, which was introduced since 2007. It is expected that production for these memories will be slowed down, and then stopped directly by the end of this year.
This is still seen as a rumor because DDR4 memory is still widely used, especially by ordinary computer owners who still use builds with AMD AM4 or Intel Z890 and B860 motherboards. These components are also still widely sold, and it would be strange if production for this memory were to suddenly stop.
As for DDR3 memory, it would not be surprising if its production was stopped this year because it is a legacy technology that is only used by companies or businesses that have not upgraded their systems for about 10 years.
