Elon Musk Bids $97.4 Billion to Buy OpenAI's Non-Profit Division



Elon Musk today announced that he and a number of investors want to bid to buy OpenAI's non-profit division at a value of $97.4 billion.


For your information, today, OpenAI is controlled by a non-profit body, which makes it limited in terms of profit generation and shareholding. To overcome this, OpenAI has announced its intention to change the company's structure before.


By bidding to acquire OpenAI, Elon Musk aims to return it to open source, and focus on security-based development as it was when it was founded. Elon Musk is also ready to file a lawsuit against OpenAI before because it is not based on the company's original mission and vision of developing artificial intelligence openly.


Regarding this, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, said that he does not want to sell it, and instead said that he is open to buying Twitter for $9.74 billion if Elon Musk wants to sell.
