Google Brings Circle to Search-Like Feature to iPhone From Within the Google App

Google has been slowly trying to find a way to bring a Circle to Search-like feature to the iPhone. Last year, they used the Google Lens app and launched it using the Action Button. Then the Lens app offered more or less the same animation. Most recently, the feature that comes closest to Circle to Search has finally been supported on the iPhone.

In the Google Chrome app or Google app, when reading content and seeing something – users can press the three-dot menu to launch Search this Screen with Google Lens. This feature will allow users to draw to select something displayed on the screen to search. Users can also copy text, add questions and more.

More interestingly, Google is also seen expanding its AI Overviews offering to the iPhone. For every Search this Screen search, if the user does not add a question – Google AI Overviews will continue to provide the closest answer. This feature will be enabled in a new update soon.
