Using virtual assistants or digital assistants on Android devices has been great and interesting for years because of Google Assistant. However, with the introduction of Gemini, its use became less prominent but the introduction of Gemini Extensions changed everything. Most recently, through Extensions support – using Gemini on the lock screen is faster and more useful.
It is more useful than Google Assistant. Just open the Gemini app, go to settings and find Gemini on lock screen, then enable both features. Once it is enabled, calling Hey Google when the device is locked will bring up Gemini for voice commands. It supports creating notes, reminders, checking business hours and more.
However, some uses such as checking the calendar or checking traffic require the device to be unlocked because it uses personal data. As a Google Assistant user who was a little disappointed with Gemini before, now I feel happy and very grateful that day by day Gemini is getting faster and is once again the smartest and most useful digital assistant.
