Now Bar is Samsung's answer to Apple's Dynamic Island. It's a smart bubble at the bottom center of the lock screen, which when pressed will display information in the form of cards. Not only that, it also has formulas for morning, afternoon and evening. Most recently, Google Maps support has been enabled.
Previously, although Google Maps appeared in the Now Bar settings in One UI 7 on the Samsung Galaxy S25 – its use was not enabled. Now, when enabled you can lock the screen after searching for turn-by-turn directions to any destination. Now Bar will then briefly display the turn-by-turn directions. Card view is also offered if you want to see additional details.
In theory, using Google Maps on the Now Bar will save the device's battery because it uses it in a locked screen condition and is also limited to viewing or ending navigation only.
