Google recently announced that they will begin using machine learning technology to guess the age of users of their platform. This is part of Google's attempt to offer content that is more appropriate for the age of users of their online services such as YouTube and Search.
This function will be introduced for Google users in the United States first and is seen to help in providing safer content, especially for individuals aged 18 and under.
This includes the use of the SafeSearch safe search feature which will be activated automatically and through the use of searches using Google's AI technology such as AI Overviews, Gemini and Circle To Search.
In the meantime, Google has also updated Google Family Link, a function in Google that allows parents to control their children's Google account settings. The School Time feature has been updated with this latest update, where it can now be used on children's smart devices and tablets to reduce "interference" especially from entertainment applications and the like. Previously School Time was only offered on FitBit Ace and Samsung Galaxy Watch For Kids smartwatches.
