GoPro Hero Now Has New 4:3 Aspect Ratio Option for 4K Video Recording

The GoPro Hero was introduced in Malaysia in September 2024. The action camera has been upgraded with a new video recording feature that allows users to record in a wider aspect ratio. This means more people can fit into one frame.

Videos recorded using the new 4:3 aspect ratio can also be cropped to 16:9 which is more suitable for platforms like YouTube. The new upgrade is available for free via the GoPro Quik app on iOS and Android.

For the record, the GoPro Hero could previously only record 4K video in a 16:9 aspect ratio. It is also the smallest and lightest 4K camera GoPro has ever produced. The retail price starts at RM999 for the camera only.
