The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is making its global debut starting in Malaysia today. The Mate XT has been making waves for its triple-folding technology that transforms from a regular phone into a larger display. It is also slim at 12.8mm thick when folded and 3.6mm thinner when unfolded.
For specifications, the Mate XT Ultimate Design uses a large 10.2-inch (2232×3184 pixels) 90Hz OLED panel that is equivalent to a full-size tablet. When opened in dual-layer mode, it has a 7.9-inch screen with a resolution of 2232×2048 pixels. When fully folded, the Mate XT can function as a regular smartphone with a 6.4-inch display and a resolution of 2232×3184 pixels.
As usual, Huawei did not reveal the processor but offered a memory match of 16GB RAM with 1TB of internal storage. The Mate XT Ultimate Design features a 50MP main camera with a variable aperture of f/1.4 to f/4.0. This is paired with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12MP periscope telephoto camera that offers 5.5X optical zoom. The device also features an 8MP front camera with built-in autofocus. The larger screen requires more power and the Mate XT is powered by a 5,600mAh battery that is divided into three sections.
It supports USB-C port and can be charged up to 66W wired and 50W wirelessly. The Mate XT Ultimate Design is available for pre-order in Malaysia with a price tag of RM14,999 each.
