Last year, Apple sued Andrew Aude, who was an engineer at Apple, for leaking company secrets to reporters from The Information and the Wall Street Journal. The case was dropped and Aude issued a public apology through his X account to Apple and employees for leaking company secrets.
According to Aude, his career as a developer was severely affected after his activities were discovered by Apple and he was subsequently fired. Therefore, he regrets it and says that his actions were completely unworthy.
Before being fired, Aude worked as an iOS developer at Apple and leaked information for several years. Among the leaked information was the Journal feature, and information about the development of Vision Pro. Thousands of messages sent were successfully detected on Aude's device, which was provided by Apple for work use.
His activities were first noticed in July 2023 and he was ordered to meet with management. During the session, Aude tried to delete evidence on the Signal application used to contact journalists.
