The Denza D9 was first launched in the global market in March 2024 and Malaysia is the fourth country in Southeast Asia to receive this electric car. For the Malaysian market, it is offered in 2 variations, namely Advanced and Premium, which have differences in terms of drive, range, finish and accessories.
Both versions have the same battery size of 103.36 kWh, but since there is a difference in drive, the Advanced version has a range of 600 KM NEDC / 520 KM WLTP while the Premium version has a range of 580 KM NEDC / 480 KM WLTP. It is also equipped with Level 2 Self-Driving and various ADAS equipment. Both are equipped with 166 kW DC fast charging allowing 30-80% charging in 30 minutes and 11 kW AC charging.
The Advanced version has a front-wheel drive electric motor with a power of 230 kW 308 hp with a maximum torque of 360 Nm allowing acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 9.5 seconds. The Premium version is all-wheel drive, and with two electric motors at the front and rear, it has a power of 275 kW 369hp with a maximum torque of 470 Nm allowing acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.
As a luxury MPV, the Denza D9 has various features that make you want to be a passenger rather than a driver. This is because the middle row seat has a seat control display to adjust the seat and also activate the massage function, control the temperature, open and close the doors and mirrors and much more. There is also a 50W wireless charger for smartphones located on the user's side and a translucent roof, as well as a roof that can be opened for the driver and front passenger. There is even a space for you to store cold or hot drinks, according to the user's choice.
For the premium version, it uses Nappa leather trim, a rearview mirror that uses an LCD display connected to a reversing camera, and a more comfortable suspension system.
The Denza D9 is offered in three colors and the Advance version is sold at RM 259,000 while the Denza D9 Premium is sold at RM 309,000. Specifically for Denza buyers, it also offers warranty support services covering three countries, namely Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. For the earliest buyers, buyers will also receive a 22kW AC charger, free maintenance for 6 years or 120,000 KM assistance distance, and Denza accessories such as pillows and luggage.
With the announcement of the Denza D9, it also marks the beginning of the luxury brand from BYD to enter the Malaysian market, and it is expected that many more luxury electric cars from this brand will be present in the future.
