Netflix Games is a new offering on Netflix, where customers can now play a variety of mobile video games without ads, without subscriptions and without in-app purchases. These games are offered for iOS and Android, but the streaming version to play on television is also available to try. On TV, Netflix uses a streaming method similar to Google Stadia or Nvidia GeForce Now – where users do not need to install the game on the device.
Most recently, after two years of being offered on television for customers in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, Spain, Mexico, France, Italy, and Germany – the web version has begun to be widely tested. Last week, it appeared in America and recently I myself saw it on the Netflix website. It has so far appeared in my account and profile when using a Chromium-based web browser. According to Netflix, this collection of games will only be visible to eligible Beta users and devices that meet the specification standards.
To play these streaming games, Netflix requires 10Mbps Internet and the device is connected to a keyboard and mouse. If on television – make sure the phone has the Netflix app for additional control on Android devices. The app will be used to scan the code and activate the controller interface. On iOS or iPadOS devices, the Netflix Game Controller app will need to be used.
Here is a list of games that are currently on offer. It is still limited compared to the regular Netflix Games on Android and iOS devices.
Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit
Infernax
OXENFREE
Link Twin
Mole Gem Mayhem
Reigns
Reigns: Three Kingdoms
Rocket
Story Warriors: Fairy Tales
The Almost Gone
Underwatermelon: Fruit Merge
Centipede Recharged
Caverns of Mars Recharged
Too Hot To Handle 3
In my testing, all games were still unplayable and internet connection issues frequently occurred. According to Netflix, if the game is being updated or the service is undergoing maintenance. I also understand that using a VPN will also not allow access to Netflix Games Beta, unlike video content.
