OM System OM-3 Launched With 24MP M4/3 Sensor and Classic SLR Design

As announced on January 24, the OM System OM-3 was officially launched as a digital camera that uses the classic design of the Olympus OM-1 SLR camera paired with the OM System OM-1 Mark II camera system launched early last year.

It is equipped with a 20.4 MP BSI Live MOS M4/3 sensor paired with a TruePic X image processor. This allows it to capture up to 120 frames per second. The video recording capability is 4K 60p.

What makes the OM-3 unique is the presence of the Creative Dial button on the front. Through this rotary button, eight picture modes can be quickly accessed. Among the built-in ones are monochrome mode and seven more film simulations that can be set by the owner according to personal needs.

The camera body is made of aluminum and passes the IP53 dust and water resistance standards. The camera also features a 2.36 million dot EVF and a 3″ LCD screen on the rear with 1.6 million dots that has a hinge allowing it to be viewed from various angles making it easier to shoot photos and videos.

The OM System OM-3 goes on sale later this month for $2000 (~RM 8880) for the body only and $2300 (~RM 10212) with the M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-45mm f/4 Pro kit lens.
