OpenAI is set to become one of the names that is often mentioned by many lately, not to mention with the ChatGPT offering and several others. For now, OpenAI is still far from achieving profitability, making them need to get an injection of investment funds to continue developing and expanding products and services.
Most recently, it was reported that OpenAI is in the process of raising up to $40 billion in funding, at a company value of up to $340 billion. Previously, we have heard reports that SoftBank wants to invest up to $25 billion in a new investment injection into OpenAI.
The last time OpenAI received investment, it was valued at around $157 billion. This represents an almost double increase compared to before.
OpenAI is expected to use some of this funding for investment purposes for an infrastructure development project in the United States, called Stargate – which also receives support from Oracle and SoftBank. In addition, with various competitions in the artificial intelligence arena, OpenAI is expected to continue investing in their development and offerings to reach the AGI phase.
For now, other investors involved in this new funding injection are not yet known.
