Perodua is ready to announce that it will officially present its first electric car this year, at a lower price than various other offerings on the market today. Most recently, sharing further through a special media session, the CEO of Perodua was quoted as saying that Perodua's first electric car will be priced at around RM80,000.
At the same time, what distinguishes Perodua from other offerings is that its battery is not sold with the purchase of the vehicle. Users need to get the battery in the form of a rental directly from Perodua. The rental price or "subscription" for it is unknown, and it is still a question mark whether the battery will be offered as such under rental, or also bundled with battery charging services.
Perodua simply said that the rental amount will be minimal. With this step, Perodua stated that users will always receive access to the battery in the best condition, including being able to replace it if there is any problem.
This step is also expected to make it easier to recycle a battery, or if you sell the vehicle to a new owner.
With this new development, let's all wait and see what further information Perodua will have to offer in the future, and how this battery rental process will fully work.
