Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 Chip Officially Launched for Mid-Segment Devices



Qualcomm has launched the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip designed for mid-range devices. It is an update to the previous Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 with improvements in terms of performance.


Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 is built on 4nm technology with new Arm v9 CPU cores. It comes with one Cortex-A720 core (2.3 GHz), two Cortex-A720 cores (2.2 GHz) and four Cortex-A520 cores (1.8 GHz). According to Qualcomm, this chip offers an 11% increase in CPU performance and 29% in GPU performance compared to Snapdragon 6 Gen 3.


Completing this chip is Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, as well as sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G networks. In addition to passing the Qualcomm aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless standards. It is also paired with LPDDR5 memory, UFS 3.1 storage, a 200MP main camera, a 16MP tri-camera and an FHD+ panel up to 144 Hz.


Realme, Oppo and Honor are expected to be among the manufacturers using this processor chip.
