Last month, we reported that Spotify and UMG had signed an agreement to offer exclusive content through special subscription plans. Under UMG are artists such as Taylor Swift, Bob Dylan, Sting, Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter and many more. Most recently, Warner Music also signed a similar agreement.
Under Warner Music Group are artists such as Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and Ed Sheeran, Bunga, Masdo, Luqman Podolski and many more. This agreement will continue Spotify's HiFi audio subscription plan, in addition to offering various content such as videos, special content for fans and more that will not be accessible on the regular subscription plan.
For now, both UMG and WMG have not yet revealed what content will be offered. Spotify has not yet explained the details of this exclusive agreement. The subscription price of Apple Music and Tidal in Malaysia which offer HiFi audio access is RM16.90, how much will Spotify charge if the current Individual plan is RM15.90? Let's wait and see.
