Starting Today, Facebook Will Delete Facebook Live Videos After 30 Days

Facebook today announced changes to how it stores live videos or Facebook Live broadcasts on its platform. Effective February 19, 2025, which is today, Facebook will delete a Facebook Live broadcast 30 days after it was broadcast.

Facebook said that all Facebook Live broadcasts starting today can be played, shared and downloaded from Facebook Pages or user profiles for 30 days, after which the video will be automatically deleted.

At the same time, all live videos currently on Facebook that are more than 30 days old will be gradually deleted and will no longer be accessible. This deletion process will occur in stages, and users will be able to download the videos.

Facebook said that users can choose to convert live videos into short Reels, and save interesting moments through them.

Facebook did not give a reason behind the change, other than saying that it is in line with industry standards and their storage policies.
