Steam Now Displays Warnings If Early Access Games Are Not Continuing Development

Steam will now save you from making the big mistake of continuing to buy games that are being tested. Later, if you are testing games through early access – this new feature will help you decide whether you want to continue supporting the developer or not.

This feature is a warning message about early access games that are not updated. This warning will help users realize whether to continue playing the game or stop. At the same time, it also provides users with information about the status of the developer involved.

Among the examples of games that display this message is Cavern Kings, which displays a message that the developer last updated the game 8 years ago. Heartbound also has a similar message stating that it has not been updated for 13 months. The case of Heartbound is a bit strange, because in January and February of 2025 the developer provided updates. Maybe this message was manually issued by Steam employees so it was overlooked?

Anyway, it is a pretty useful feature and will definitely save you money on buying video games.
