This Accessory Turns Your iPhone Into a Leica Camera

If you have around RM1,500 to spare, you can buy this new accessory to turn your iPhone into a Leica camera. What is this accessory and who makes it? It’s Leica’s own Lux Grip for use with their iOS camera app Lux.

The Leica Lux Grip is a grip that connects to the back of your iPhone via MagSafe to give it a DSLR-like grip. It includes customizable physical buttons, a two-stage shutter, and a control wheel for use like a real Leica camera. The accessory is built with an aluminum frame, has a premium black finish, can be rotated to use it either vertically or horizontally, and sadly lacks the iconic red Leica dot.

The Leica Lux Grip has a built-in 300mAh battery that supports up to 1,000 shots. It can be recharged in 2 hours via USB-C. The accessory officially retails for $320 (~RM1,460). There is a leather protective case sold separately for $70 (~RM310).

Leica encourages users to use the Lux Grip in conjunction with their Lux app. It is free to use, but accessing full features and functionality requires a subscription starting at RM29.90 per month.
