Transferring App Purchases Between Apple Accounts Is Now Possible

Have you ever opened an account with email A but then stopped using that account for some reason? All app purchases were tied to account A and new purchases had to be made on account B. Starting today, Apple finally supports transferring all content from one Apple Account (formerly Apple ID) to another Apple Account.

At this time, only media purchases (music, ebooks, TV series, and movies) and apps can be transferred from the old account to the new account. After the transfer, the old account can no longer be used to make purchases. To use this feature, you first need to update your device to iOS 18.3.1 as it is a new feature. It should be noted that this feature is not available in the UK, EU, and India at this time.

Here's how to transfer purchases and media.

Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.

Tap your Apple Account name.

Tap Media & Purchases.

Tap View Account.

Find the Migrate Purchases option.

Review the information for both accounts you want to use.

Follow the instructions provided on the device.

After the process, a notification “Purchases Have Been Migrated” will appear on the screen. An email will also be sent to both accounts for confirmation.

Check Media & Purchases in the new Apple Account.
