U Mobile has now announced through its official website that it has begun introducing 5G SA (Standalone) access in stages, specifically for a number of selected plans.
5G SA or also known as 5G Standalone. It uses infrastructure specifically developed for it without relying on the 4G network. With this step, it offers lower latency, higher and more stable speeds, and support for network slicing which is very useful for the industry.
U Mobile is currently offering limited access to the 5G SA network to users of the U Postpaid 98, U Biz 98, U Premium and U Platinum plans. Support is also limited to a few devices only, and is not supported on all existing 5G devices, and no longer supports Apple devices. If you receive the 5G SA network, then it will display U Mobile 5G SA in the network section of your device.
