This may come as a surprise to many. Google Photos finally started rolling out support for flipping images this week. Yes, a basic feature that has been available in many photo editing apps for a long time – it’s only been introduced in Google Photos in 2025.
The feature is limited to the Google Photos app on Android devices only. iOS, iPadOS devices, and the web version are not yet available. To flip an image, you need to select any image (video is not supported, images with Live effects are), tap the edit icon, select crop, and tap the flip icon.
Now you no longer need multiple image editing apps on your Android device. Coming soon, Google Photos will be a single hub for your image collection, whether for cloud storage or as a place to make edits.
