3,670 Pornographic Websites Blocked by MCMC as of February 2025



In a statement, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil announced that 3,670 pornographic websites have been blocked in Malaysia from 2022 to February 15, 2025. This move is part of the government's ongoing efforts to combat immoral content and protect Malaysians from the dangers of online pornographic content. In addition, 1,993 pornographic social media content was also taken down during the same period.


Fahmi said that proactive monitoring actions by MCMC and cooperation with service providers will continue to be enhanced to ensure that pornographic advertisements on social media can be identified, blocked and taken down immediately. MCMC is also committed to implementing various more effective preventive measures in curbing the spread of pornographic content on digital platforms. It was also informed that MCMC has a special team that receives public complaints and carries out enforcement actions based on information received.


Fahmi also reminded the public not to spread any unverified information as it can invite various problems and dangers. With the support and cooperation from all parties, it is hoped that this effort can protect the public from immoral content.
