Ant Group Sees Savings in AI Training Costs by Up to 20% Using Chips from Chinese Companies

Ant Group, an affiliate of Alibaba, which also owns Touch n Go eWallet in Malaysia, is now sharing a new achievement, saying it has managed to save training costs for artificial intelligence models by up to 20%.

This was achieved by using chips produced by Chinese companies themselves, namely those from Alibaba and Huawei. These chips are used to train their artificial intelligence models, and are seen to achieve results that are roughly the same as using NVIDIA chips.

This development also shows that chips produced by Chinese firms have now achieved capabilities equivalent to NVIDIA chips and others – and also shows that trade restrictions by the United States are accelerating innovation, allowing China to come up with more cost-efficient offerings.
