Apple App Store Begins Testing AI-Summarized App Review Display

Since last year, the Apple App Store has gradually started offering several generative artificial intelligence features. For example, users can search by simply entering the context of the app. Most recently, Apple has finally started testing the AI-summarized app review feature.

The presence of this feature has been expected to arrive since October last year. However, it was only with the iOS 18.4 update that Apple's developer version began to activate it. The review summary on the App Store is said to use a natural language model that is like sending a message to others. Apple will start the review with a positive one before ending the sentence with a negative review.

These reviews are said to be refreshed every week when the number of new reviews has been added. For now, it is still in the testing stage where it only supports English and for the Apple App Store in the United States only.

This feature is similar to the one introduced by Shopee in December last year. Do you think app reviews on online stores are sufficient compared to reading one review after another?
